Artist Statement
Painting is the medium through which I share my fascination with light. This fascination arises from visual experiences of reality that both amaze and transcend. It does not matter whether the source is appropriated digital images of unknown places or the familiar landscapes where I live; what matters most is the moment of attraction, the feeling of being overwhelmed. That very moment becomes the source of inspiration.
When it comes to form, it is also shaped by this fascination—indeed, it reflects it. These efforts relate to a central question: How can one give form to what is immaterial and transcendent? The search for an answer is the driving force behind my painting. That is why I work with the concepts of harmony, beauty, monumentality, ephemerality, lightness, softness, and silence. My intention is to create an atmosphere of calm and contemplation within my landscapes.
It is light that transforms the landscape into a lightscape. It permeates the entire scene. Light reveals fragments of reality—yet never all of it—leaving space for the viewer’s imagination. Ultimately, it is the light that invites the viewer to pause, to contemplate, and to immerse themselves in the very moment of the image.
